It's no secret that I have been a big supporter of DmC since it's announcement last year. While the Devil May Cry faithful have largely risen up to make their disapproval known, I have been excited about the change of pace that this new game brings to the table. Not only am I a fan of Dante's new look but I am just excited to see the universe approached in a more serious way. While I do share the concern that Ninja Theory may not be up to the task of delivering a game as fast paced and fluid as Devil May Cry, I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt for now.

After a disappointing reaction to the first trailer by the fans, the appearance of DmC at E3 was a looking a little bit better. Clearly feeling pressure from fans, Capcom is finally showing their hand by switching their marketing focus from story and tonal elements to the gameplay. This new trailer seems to be steering the game in the right direction. Combat is fast paced and visceral like a DMC game should be and to my surprise, the few short months since E3 seem to have been good to the game. I can only hope that in the coming months, Ninja Theory can meld these sweet new combat videos into a story trailer that will show fans that they don't have as much to worry about as they originally thought.

DmC is currently in development at Ninja Theory and still has no solid release date. I may stand alone but DmC currently sits atop my list of most anticipated games of 2012. How do you feel about the way that DmC is shaping up at this state in development?

Gameplay seems a lot faster. I actually want to play it more. Although some of it looks a little gimmicky for the sake of pleasing fans.

I'm looking forward to playing this game without any previous experience of DMC games. Rather, I'm looking forward to how this is as a game rather than how it is as compared to the previous ones.

Does dante have the same moves for EVERY weapon? Also while i'll admit the fighting looks good, THATS ALL WE SEEN so far. I would like some story trailers as well, or background info.

    still watching this title skeptically.

Weapons. Guns. Cool moves. Yep, looks like a DMC game alright. The real clincher is how Devil Trigger will function.

Dante has always been a dick towards the badies... that's why they are badies :3c
I'm glad I'm not one of the few that are comfortable with his new look, Just like with current reboots, like the forthcoming Tomb Raider, really looking forward for aging characters. If Snake can do it why can't others? Aya Brea does it, even though she's only been in a few games and part of the reason why she doesnt look like she ages is cus of her genetic alterations. It's like what changes in Parasite Eve/3rd Birthday is the world around her, everyone ages but her.

I'd love to hear from your views on aging characters.

I've always been a supporter of "DmC". I actually wasn't the biggest fan of Devil May Cry 4. Sure, it had many things about it that I enjoyed, but overall, I wanted to see something different. When a new Devil May Cry game was announced, I was definitely excited. And boy was it ever different. After watching the first trailer a few times, I've grown to like the new perspective of "DmC". When I saw the E3 trailer, I got more excited as they introduced was seemed like familiar traits from the original games, such as "Devil Trigger". Of course, that might not be what it is, but it certainly hints to that. And now, after seeing this trailer, I feel even more confident that the game will be great or at the very least fun. I truly appreciate the change that "DmC" is bringing because I'm interested in seeing a new side in a series that I really enjoy playing.

The weapons shown so far seems kind of boring for a DMC game. But I'm willing to give them the benefit of the doubt since they haven't shown much of the game yet.

Well, I was worried at first, but, after seeing that, he clearly feels like, and acts like Dante, plus, for a minute, I thought he LOOKED like the original Dante. So, I'm pretty excited now :D

It looks more impressive than I expected. They show "style" moves like Aerial Rave and the jumping GunSlinger move (can't remember it's name), as well as a weapon that look like it functions similar to the Devil Bringer. If I can essentially both use Nero's arm and Dante's styles, I'm excited. Hopefully, the game'll have a turbo mode and come to PC.
The lack of a good fisticuffs weapon does bother me though, it's been series staple to have weapons like Ifrit, Gilgamesh, and Beowulf. Also, I see no rocket launcher/shotgun action. This must be fixed.

Dante still looks like an anorexic hobo. I hate his 'new' look. The gameplay looks solid. I never had any complaints against Ninja Theory. Just their version of Dante is still a no-no. Not a deal-breaker though.

I dont understand why people are so negative to the appearance change, the gameplay is the core of this series. Right?

As many know I've been hating on this game ever since the debut trailer. I thought the new "style" was shitty and the serious tone was unneeded. Then they released the first E3 gameplay trailer which I thought the combat looked slow and clumsy.

Have to say, this is the first time I've been excited after watching a DmC trailer.

Game looks as nice as ever. The franchise looks better and better visually with each sequel, which is nice because DMC3 and 4 were extremely good looking games. Combat still looks fast paced, and after seeing this trailer, I have complete faith in Ninja Theory. People complaining about Dante's new look is getting out of hand though. They still complain despite the fact that the fans are being catered to, since we see Dante with his white hair at various points in screenshots and videos.

I've noticed that a lot of the attacks look like the Nevan animations, not that it's a bad thing. I also like how Dante does get white hair and his red coat when he goes into a type of devil trigger mode.

Really the only thing I didn't like about it was Tameem's attitude at the beginning. Maybe now he's starting to see that fans do care about Dante as a character. I am a lot more accepting since I played Enslaved and realized Ninja Theory is amazing at character development.

Ninja Theory already killed this character or better yet Capcom did cause they wanted him so different. The gameplay was meh, since when does Dante use a scythe like what the fuck.

I really do feel that after Bayonetta, and specifically the combat system, this game is just going to pale in comparison. That said, I don't want to jump to conclusions, and I'll be more than happy to give it a shot. Hell, I even liked the 2nd game!

Hmm it looks better than the other trailer but I'm really tired of games like dmc and this new Dante look is very weird... if they release a demo maybe I'll give it a try but it.
