Doom 4 Confirmed

The news I have been waiting for has finally arrived. Today, Id Software announced the existence of Doom 4 through a job listing. This also marks the first time in the developers history that the company has worked on two major titles at once. In addition to working on the next entry in the doom universe, Id is developing a game titled Rage. While no official information reguarding the title, including platform, story, or release date were revealed, I am happy just knowing that it's coming. Based on the direction of industry as a whole and the current state of PC gaming, I think it is safe to assume that the title will hit both major platforms in addition to PC. Personally, I hope they take the doom universe in a completely new direction while still maintaining that high level of quality that was set by Doom 3.
