Spider-Man: Web of Shadows Announced

So at work yesterday, I noticed a promotional flier that included an invitation for people to visit gamestop.com to vote on which pre-order bonus would be offered with "Spider-man: Web of Shadows". If you haven't heard of this game yet, you are not alone. This was actually the first I had ever head of this new spider-man title. If you have visited Kotaku today, you can see an image of this flier that was posted by another gamestop employee. So today, Activision officially announced the game that will be developed by Shaba Games and Treyarch and will be released on all current consoles and handhelds (as is common with spider-man games). The game looks dark and interesting and will definitely be something that I pick up play but i'm not sure if it will turn out all that great. The game will be an open world new York, swinging extravaganza like previous titles and suggests that the alien symbiote will play a role in the story. Since it is not based on the movies, I am hoping that it may turn out to be the next "Ultimate Spider-man" which was a surprisingly good game on last gen consoles. In fact, I would go as far as to say that Ultimate Spider-man was underrated. I will be sure to keep everyone posted as new information is released but for now, check out the teaser trailer below.
