It is rare that all 5 of us both play and enjoy a game on this podcast but that is exactly what happened with Ghost of Tsushima. The discussion that ensues is chaotic and unpredictable, but enthusiastic! Nolan and Brad are a bit torn however after their first few hours with Paper Mario: The Origami King. In the 2nd segment, we deliver our reactions to the big Xbox Games Showcase which included the first reveal of Halo Infinite gameplay and the return of Fable!

I think all the people calling SWERY transphobic are being way too harsh. I truly believe it was a big misunderstanding, and I'm sure that the language barrier played a big role in it as most of the issues come from using pronouns incorrectly. There is literally a scene in the game in which Agent Morgan tells one character that we're all equal, and your gender, race, etc have no barrings on your value as a human being, then berates another character for being xenophobic. I'm glad they're working to fine tune the script, but I think it should be viewed more as "fixing what was written incorrectly" than "botched, offensive transphobia."

Nick's aversion to a potential MMO influence on Fable made me want to coin a new acronym: GAS. Games As Service. For example, "If this game is too much GAS, I'm out."

I feel for Nick whenever there's mention of multiplayer elements. It just gives me a bad vibe. While not always true, it's usually where the worst elements of the gaming industry is allowed to run rampant. Lootboxes, microtransactions, gameplay loops that focus less on fun and more on forming addictive habits in people that are prone to such. Plus the design philosophies of single and multiplayer games are completely different, sometimes at odds with each other.

I remember Brad a while ago giving his opinion on multiplayer games and I agreed with it. I can't remember exactly what he said but it was along the lines of he thought they didn't have a sense of progression.

But overall, Chris Davis, watch your mouth.
