Valkyria Chronicles 4 may be a near carbon-copy of the 2008 original but that doesn't stop it from finding a few ways to surprise us. The game remains one of the most interesting strategy RPGs on the market! Nolan revisits Dragon Quest XI and Nick gives another update on his big series run now that he has started Resident Evil Code Veronica! It's a big news week though so we talk at length about the legal drama playing out in the Witcher's neck of the woods and the exciting new Harry Potter RPG that is rumored to be in development at Warner Bros!

Listening to the conversation about the Witcher author, the impression i get is people are making fun of him because he made the worst decision you can make when licensing your property out to someone, you should always take a percentage over a lump sum. To me it didn't seem like people were mad at him because he wanted what he though he was owed, it was more of "you made a dumb decision and now you have to deal with the consequences" kind of deal

I enjoyed the conversation you guys had about Andrzej Sapkowski. There was a similar reaction to the news that Randy Pitchford's assistant stole millions from him. Apparently he deserved it because Colonial Marines was bad and had misleading marketing.

Also, a in Ep. 572 (last week's) you guys answered a question about good platformers released in the last 10 years. You listed over 20 games (not bad!) but no one said Super Meat Boy, I thought you were intentionally trolling :)

    Quick Dragon Quest 11 responses:

I work from home and sometimes leave the PS4 running so the music was driving me nuts.

Brad asked something like "Why THIS game, what makes it special?" While it is a pretty typical JRPG, random boy saving the world, it has been simply epic at times. Some of the cutscenes make me go YEAH!!

Also Nolan- you can respec individual branches of the tree (like 'knives' or 'whips'). So not as exact as one skill, but you don't have to do the whole character over at least.

Hearing about that Harry Potter RPG's features makes me wish Chris Avellone was doing the writing for it instead of Dying Light 2. To those who don't know listening or watching, he was responsible for Baldurs Gate, KOTOR 2, Fallout New Vegas, and most recently Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Into the Breach, and Prey (among many others). The entirety of it just seems like the perfect Obsidian game in general (and news topic, Microsoft is aiming to buy them!)

Also, yes, Dragon Quest 11's music is annoying. I wasn't even the one playing it! My roommate was. I have the overworld and battle music still stuck in my head.
