Nick, if you're that far into FF13, you might as well finish it. I'd read up on the storyline so far to get yourself reacquainted with it since it's the main driving force of the game. The battle system is relatively easy to get back into, though I wouldn't just jump into a boss fight and expect to do well. Once you get to the last chapter, it becomes an entirely new game and is much more enjoyable. Definitely give it another shot and report back.
