This 2017 train isn't stopping for anyone! This past week saw the release of even more big games like the highly anticipated sequel to Outlast and the latest emotional "walking-simulator" from Giant Sparrow, What Remains of Edith Finch. Nolan took Telltale's Guardians of the Galaxy, for a spin and Nick went way back to play Turok 2: Seeds of Evil now that Night Dive Studios has effectively remastered it. Expect some Flinthook and Shovel Knight talk for good measure!

Please god tell me that ad was a mistake, I know YouTube's ad revenue has turned into a shit show but you guys had a successful Patreon beforehand. Don't start putting those crappy copy & paste ads, that have no audience among your viewers, into the show.

But running is all you do in Outlast 2, except the levels are designed in a way to get you caught on every single damn twig and stone on the ground. So it fails as a running simulator, and double fails as a hiding simulator because even on 'normal' enemies have a sixth sense about you hiding nearby. It's not as good as Outlast, it just looks pretty. Also, fuck that ending. Bullshit DLC teasing crap.

Guardians of the Galaxy is probably Telltales most boring series thus far, with such a lack of choice it felt like I was watching an episode of a mediocre t.v. show. Nothing about it was compelling, and like most of their recent stuff it was short.

If there are more character for Marvel vs Capcom Infinite they haven't yet revealed, I hope the roster includes She-Hulk, Frank West, R. Mika (Butt-slap Included), Dead Pool, and Scarlet Witch. I'd also like to see Poison, Leon S. Kennedy (The better Resident Evil protagonist), and Black Widow.

But Nintendo already has a new handheld, the Switch.

When telltale was being discussed there was talk about how they don't need the star power of big voice acting names they have hired before. I believe that telltale hires big names for their acting ability. Voice actors are unlikely to garner much attention unless it's someone who is a bit out of left field. Like Peter Dinklage in Destiny.
On another note. I wish telltale was more careful with reusing voice actors. Having Laura Bailey as catwoman was a bit jarring after she had starred as a lead in tales from the borderlands.

To add an opinion on voice acting in games, I honestly don't mind if a game like Persona does not have 100% voice acting in all of its scenes. Sometimes just reading the text while imagining how that character would say it with their voice in my head can be just as invigorating as if it were voiced. This could also work for games with no voice acting for that matter because I can imagine how a particular character would sound like based on their physical or psychological characteristics.

Can't wait for the next DnD session!
Also, I agree that the "reveal" of those MvC:I characters felt rather weak. While the new gem mechanics seem interesting, it's hard to ignore the lack of new characters we've seen so far. An interesting thought from the Super Desperation Radio podcast is that if the devs go balls deep into Marvel's cinematic universe's aesthetic, we're gonna see some rather drab and muted looking heroes, at least from the Marvel side.
I'm just hoping Sentinel at least isn't either broken-tier or suck-tier in this game.

I used to play minecraft like many people have hell once in a blue moon I fire it up again and experience the amazing new editions made to the game since I last played it...well amazing if you've never used mods. Anyway I digress when I play minecraft I like to play on hardcore mode which gives it the rogue like quality of once you die you have to start over. I feel like with some tweaks minecraft could be a pretty cool rogue like.

I hear you Brad. Though Tales of Berseria has way more voice acting than Persona, I'm guessing the Tales' budget in other facets of the game is not so hot.

Persona 4 it seemed like all main story dialogue was voiced, so it definitely throws me when there is a bit of main story in P5 that is not voiced.
